As music fans know, festival season is officially underway. Over the past couple years we have become familiar with events such as Coachella and EDC but for those late to the party, Lightning in a Bottle presented by The DoLab will take over Bradley, California at the end of this month. Lightning in a Bottle is a different type of festival experience. This weekend not only includes music from artists such as Chet Faker, Jamie XX, and Big Gigantic but also visual and interactive art installations as well as yoga and other wellness group activities.
For those of you still not convinced, let me go through a typical day at LIB. Imagine waking up at your campsite and starting the day with yoga. Then, attend a workshop (or two) with like minded people on topics such as tea tasting, public speaking, or art. As the sun sets, join the group meditation while listening to music overheard at the Woogie stage. If you didn’t bring enough clothes you can visit some of the vendor booths and shop eco-friendly fashion from the LIB exclusive collaboration with the brand teeki. And of course, visit some of the creative structures and stages the festival has to offer such as the Temple of Consciousness or the Woogie, Lightning, and Bamboo stages.
So now that you’re ready to go, don’t forget to pack your goggles and scarves to protect yourself from the dust. And if you want my recommendation on some of the musical acts, check out Four Tet at Woogie, Hundred Waters at the Lightning Stage, Parker + Barrow at the Pagoda Bar and Space Jesus at the Thunder Stage. I promise you will not be disappointed.
Listen: Hundred Waters – “Forgive Me For Giving Up”
