Sound On Sound In The Lone Star State

Just 35 miles east of Austin, Texas lays Sherwood Forest Faire, a 23-acre Renaissance village ready to welcome thousands of fans anxious to see a stacked lineup featuring top-notch talent from a full spectrum of genres. Taking place November 4-6, the inaugural Sound On Sound Fest will be a surreal medieval experience complete with stand up comedy, art installations, panel sessions and much more.

The official festival kickoff is Friday, but if you arrive early do yourself a favor and check out the eclectic live music and food scene Austin has to offer. In fact, the festival organizers are launching their Late Knights  kick-off parties on Thursday night at local venues around the city. But don’t party too hard, you still have a full weekend in the village ahead of you, and with acts like Phantogram, Big Boi, Young Thug, Purity Ring, Death Grips, and A-Trak you’ll need all the energy you can get.

We can’t wait to enjoy the performances and wander the village castle, shops, pubs, and restaurants. But if the music and daytime festival activities aren’t enough, pick up your camping pass and party into the wee hours at a unique late night experience featuring a 24-hour diner and an outdoor dance club. You can also put your feet up and watch a film in the screening room or check out the Globe Stage  for a comedy show. This new festival is vast and has you covered from AM to PM. Before you head down to Sound On Sound Fest this weekend, check out some of the names you don’t recognize on the lineup. We discovered a ton of new artists we can’t wait to see.
