Ever since touching down in Croatia in 2013, Ultra Europe has set a new precedent for the international electronic music scene. Miami’s flagship festival brand crossed the pond in the hopes of global expansion, and in bringing a delectable array of cutting-edge artists and production to the Dalmatian Coast, Split has never quite been the same.
Again mirroring its Miami counterpart, Ultra sought to bring a Europeanized iteration of Miami Music Week to additional parts of the world. And thus, Croatia Music Week was born in 2015 – a seven-day festival experience offering an abundance of dazzling musical showcases amid Split’s scintillating beaches and picturesque coasts. It was there that Resistance, a concept spearheaded by Ultra Worldwide that is grounded upon the best of house and techno, made its Croatia debut.
As Resistance prepares for its second run in Croatia, a number of underground titans have already been confirmed: Adam Beyer, Apollonia, Carl Cox, Elio Riso, Hot Since 82, Ida Engberg, Jamie Jones, Jon Rundell, Joseph Capriati, Marco Carola, Nic Fanciulli, Solomun, Technasia and UMEK. Beginning July 14, Resistance’s Opening Party will take place at the Giraffe Palm Beach House in the company of UMEK and his 1605 Music Therapy label cohorts.
The following day, techno heavyweights Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg will grace Ultra Europe’s Resistance stage with a slate of robust basslines, with Solomun, Technasia and Elio Riso to follow.
On Saturday, Carl Cox & Friends will make their inaugural appearance at Ultra Europe’s Resistance Stage, where Cox will be joined by techno mavens Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati and Jon Rundell. For Ultra’s final day, Hot Creations head-honcho Jamie Jones will take the lead, while Nic Fanciulli, Hot Since 82 and Apollonia will act as support. To close out a jam-packed week of music, Nic Fanciulli and Hot Since 82 will headline Resistance’s final party on July 20 at an undisclosed location.
