Featuring more than 300 artists on 17 stages, this year’s 25th anniversary of Mysteryland in the Netherlands August 24-26 is going to be a whopper.
Here’s a quick look at some of the names heading up a few of the stages: Alesso, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Fatboy Slim, Hardwell, A-Trak, Dillon Francis, Erick Morillo, Ferry Corsten, Galantis, Green Velvet, Hannah Wants, Jamie Jones, Loco Dice, Markus Schulz, Netsky, Nicky Romero, Paul Van Dyk, Rank 1, Robin Schulz, Sam Feldt (live), Sven Väth, Tchami, Wildstylez, and Yellow Claw. In addition to all the talent across genres on various stages like Q-dance, Hardwell Revealed, and Beatport, the festival also features camping, a cornucopia of foods to chow down on, and shopping at its eclectic marketplace. As a green party, Mysteryland practices Leave No Trace, and as a result has earned several awards for its eco-friendly approach to large-scale festivals.
Launched in 1993 over the weekend of July 9-11 with a handful of homegrown acts including The Prophet, by 2002, the festival featured an array of international marquee names including Felix da Housecat, Mauro Picotto, Mousse T, Tiefschwarz, and Judge Jules; the following year, it included Timo Maas, Erick Morillo, and Richie Hawtin. From 2011-2014, Mysteryland called Chile home. And from 2014-2016, it went down in Woodstock, NY in the USA. It’s safe to say that since its launch, pretty much everyone who’s anyone in electronic music has graced its stages around the globe. The festival itself is now older than many people attending it, but it shows no sign of losing steam.
