This weekend thousands of festival fanatics will descend on a historic post office space in downtown Houston for a two-day immersive experience featuring world-class musicians and leaders in digital art. Taking place December 17-18, Day For Night promises to merge technology, sound, and live music production in the festival landscape. Forget how a festival should look and feel, this unique cultural experience will be one for the books.
Headliners include a rare appearance by reclusive electronic pioneer Aphex Twin, Houston’s own Travis Scott, incendiary hip hop duo Run the Jewels, ODESZA, Kaskade, BANKS and many more. If that isn’t enough, Icelandic musical icon Björk will present her only U.S. exhibition of Björk Digital, a multi-room experience that combines music with visual art and digital effects. The weekend’s roster of immersive electronic and light exhibitions features more than 15 artists, and attendees will find dozens of installations dispersed both indoors and out. When you’re not dancing to the music be sure to peruse all the incredible art Day for Night has to offer.
The music alone has fans pumped for the weekend, but we hope you take a break from the bass, shoulder to shoulder crowds and mosh pits to immerse yourself in a sensory experience from artists around the globe. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and check out Day for Night. You definitely won’t find another music festival like this in Texas.
