While the notion of the music festival has nearly become stale considering the rise and fall of innumerable festivals each year, Movement Electronic Music Festival has achieved major recognition as a festival in a league of its own. Having earned its stripes as one of the top events in the world, Movement saw an all-time high in its 2015 attendance with over 100,000 revelers descending upon Hart Plaza.
Still missing Coachella? Can’t wait for EDC Las Vegas? Just want to an excuse to go to Vegas? Have no fear, because Exodus Festival in Las Vegas is happening this week starting on Thursday, May 19 thru Monday, May 23. This festival, in its seventh season, gives ticket holders (age 21 and up) access to 9 nightclubs and 6 pool parties over the weekend for over 3,000 attendees.
Electric Daisy Carnival New York has undergone a number of major adjustments since its 2012 inception. What could often be referred to as “EDC New Jersey” frequently alternated between East Rutherford’s Met Life Stadium and Queens’ Citi Field, with the inaugural event drawing in about 45,000 revelers per day. It’s easy to say that the New York leg of the Las Vegas flagship festival was a natural success.
On Friday, SoCal Bassheads everywhere will be in attendance for Uprising 2016 at the Hollywood Palladium. The lineup for this event is stacked with bass music favorites. Now, I’m particularly biased because one of my good friends and dubstep alum from the UK, P0gman, will be playing and I guarantee that you don’t want to miss his set.
Renowned as a celebratory cross-section of art, music and technology, Moogfest is gearing up for its long-awaited return to North Carolina in several weeks’ time. After taking a year off, the biennial festival, which commemorates the late American synth pioneer Bob Moog, will celebrate advances in music at its new home in Durham.
I’m really excited about this post because BFD presented by Live 105 was the very first festival I ever attended in 2007. BFD is a Bay Area music festival held at Shoreline Ampitheatre in Mountain View on Saturday, June 4th. I have tried to go every year since, even after moving away from the Bay Area because it’s such great time, the crowd is great, and I’ve never had any issues getting in and out of the venue.
