Since 2012, Boise, Idaho has played host to Treefort, an annual music and arts festival that celebrates the independent music scene. The four-day event features nearly 400 performers traveling from all corners of the globe to throw down March 22-26. Hailed as a cultural milestone for the city, Treefort will lead you through a discovery of music, film, art, and comedy leaving you with memories that will last a lifetime.
The epicenter of the festival is the mainstage in downtown Boise, where national acts like The Growlers, Lizzo, and Mac Demarco will hold court. Bring your walking shoes. You’ll get the best workout of your life running all over downtown Boise as you venue-hop your way through the city. But be sure they’re dancing shoes too. Many of the up-and-coming acts you’ll see have a die-hard fan base. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself moshing in the most unexpected places.
Strategically placed throughout the festival are pop-up venues called forts where talks, exhibits, and much more will take place. This year, there are nine official forts, each offering something different for attendees. Start off at Alefort for regional brews, next hop over to Comedyfort for a laugh, explore indie films at Filmfort, or eat your heart out with food-obsessed trailblazers at Foodfort. You also have Hackfort, Kidfort, Skatefort, Storyfort, and Yogafort to choose from, so we’re sure you’ll find something that suits your fancy.
