Created by Thrill Mill, a nonprofit organization serving early stage entrepreneurs, this unique festival boasts a modest yet stellar lineup set against the industrial relics of Pittsburgh’s historic Carrie Furnaces. Now in it’s fourth and biggest year, Thrival Innovation + Music Festival will be hosting a wide variety of immersive programming throughout the week capped by two full days of live music on September 23-24. Here are five artists we’re excited to check out.
Boston-based funk masters Lettuce have been cranking out slimy grooves since meeting at Berklee College of Music in 1992. Over the past decade, they’ve helped pioneer a resurgence of classic James Brown-era soul alongside artists like Sharon Jones and Galactic, securing their place as a staple at festivals around the world. The band’s members have worked with everyone from Lady Gaga to Wyclef Jean and they even hosted one of Bonnaroo’s legendary “Superjams”. Their set is guaranteed to be a non-stop party.

This weekend, he’ll be joined on stage by Wu-affiliates Killarmy, WuLords, and Ezekial XI.
