5 Acts You Can’t Miss at Summer Set

Summer Set Music & Camping Festival is upon us this weekend celebrating their 5 year anniversary with a stellar lineup featuring Chance The Rapper, Skrillex, and Bassnectar alongside an eclectic mix of indie, hip hop, and electronic favorites. The festival takes place at the scenic Somerset Amphitheatre in Northern Wisconsin and is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area. Tory Lanez is a Canadian rapper and singer. He began to recieve recognition after dropping his mixtape Conflicts of My Soul: The 416 Story in 2013. Since then he’s gone on to collaborate with rappers such as Meek Mill and has done ghostwriting Travis Scott and Akon. If you’re a fan of Bryson Tiller then be sure to catch Tory Lanez this weekend.

Illenium is a producer and DJ from Denver, Colorado known for his melodic bass sound. With official remixes for Dawn Golden, Odesza, and Oh Wonder, his soundcloud plays are in the millions thanks to his emotional and melodic dubstep sound. He has played festivals such as Electric Forest and Global Dance at Red Rocks so his set will definitely not disappoint this weekend. If you are looking for a DJ to take you on a melodic and dreamy journey, then Illenium is your guy.

Grimes is a singer from Canada who is known for her experimental sound. Her music fuses electronica, R&B, and synth pop with her new song “Medieval Warfare” featured in the blockbuster movie Suicide Squad. In addition to having 3 albums under her belt, she has graced the stages of festivals such as Coachella and Outside Lands so make sure to see her whole set this weekend.

Mod Sun is a rapper from Minnesota who resides in Los Angeles. The name Mod Sun stands for “Movement On Dreams Stand Under None.” He is known for his hippie lifestyle and positive messages he provides through his music. He’s released multiple mixtapes and EPs and has collaborated with G-Eazy, MGK, Schoolboy Q and others. If you miss his set this weekend, you can catch him in Los Angeles on August 21 or in Las Vegas on September 25.

Claptone is a deep house DJ and producer from Germany who performs in all black while wearing a golden bird mask and white gloves. His deep sound has influences of Chicago house, tech house, and disco. Claptone has collaborated with producers such as as Pete Tong and has played all over the world on stages at Ultra, SW4, and Melt. This year he brought his live show to Coachella and was met with great reviews. Make sure to catch his set this weekend.
