5 Acts You Can’t Miss at Moonrise Festival


This weekend, Moonrise Festival returns to the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland on August 6-7. This fairly new festival boasts an impressive lineup this year with circuit regulars like The Chainsmokers, Tiesto, and Bassnectar alongside top-notch deep house, dubstep, and trap artists. CHEAT CODES  

Cheat Codes is an anthem pop / tropical house trio from Los Angeles. Their most recent track “Sex” came out on Spinnin’ Records earlier this year and samples Salt N Pepa. Since their debut in 2015, they have toured with The Chainsmokers in the US and play both live shows and DJ sets. Every track this group puts out is catchy, danceable, and fun so make sure to see them live on Saturday.

BEAR GRILLZ  

Bear Grillz is a dubstep DJ and producer on Firepower Records. He is known for his bear persona online and for performing in a bear suit. Earlier this year, he surprised fans when he finally revealed his identity while DJing on Jerry Springer. Besides touring in the US, Europe, and Australia, he has supported dubstep artist Excision on the Paradox tour.

VALENTINO KHAN  

Valentino Khan is a producer from Los Angeles. Besides having releases on Mad Decent, OWSLA, and Dim Mak, he has produced beats for hip-hop artists TI, 2 Chainz, and B.O.B. His track “Deep Down Low” is heavily supported by other DJs on the festival circuit and was named Sirius XM’s No.1 Song of 2015 on their station Area. With his signature handlebar mustache and energetic stage shows, he is very recognizable so make sure to see his whole set this weekend. If you can’t make it to Moonrise, he will also be playing the Mad Decent Block party in Philadelphia and Brooklyn this summer.

HEROBUST  

Herobust is a producer from Atlanta who debuted in the EDM scene in 2014. With roots in hip-hop, Herobust’s production has a creative and energetic trap sound. He currently has releases with Mad Decent and just played Hard Summer in Los Angeles this past weekend. His set will be a must see at Moonrise.

YOUNG THUG  

Young Thug is an Atlanta based rapper who, since his debut in 2014, has been featured on countless hits and collaborated with artists such as Kanye West, Gucci Mane, Usher, Jamie XX and many others. This year, his mixtape Slime Season 3 dropped and was met with very positive reviews. Young Thug is known for his avant-garde approach to his music, fashion sense, and image so his performance this weekend will definitely be memorable.
