5 Acts You Can’t Miss at Corona Capital Festival


For the past six years, Corona Capital Music Festival has brought a diverse selection of international artists to the heart of Mexico City for a packed weekend of incredible live music that has become a major event for the country. This year, they’re back with one of the last great lineups of 2016 featuring performances by LCD Soundsystem, Kraftwerk, Pet Shop Boys and many more. WILD BEASTS  

English rock group Wild Beasts have been releasing music together for over a decade, earning them countless fans and a Mercury Prize nomination along the way. Following the success of their fifth studio album Boy King , the band has become a fixture at concert halls and music festivals across the globe with a sound inspired by UK giants like Radiohead and Arctic Monkeys.

YOUNG FATHERS  

Since becoming recipients of the coveted Mercury Prize in 2014, Scottish alt-hip hop group Young Fathers have been turning heads throughout the industry with their unorthodox approach to a genre whose roots are a world away from the trio’s home in Edinburgh. After joining electro pioneers Massive Attack on an extensive European tour this past summer, they’ll be wrapping up the year with their Saturday night performance at Corona Capital. Don’t miss this chance to see international hip hop’s bleeding edge live in the flesh.

FISCHERSPOONER  

Fischerspooner is an influential New York electroclash duo and performance troupe founded by Warren Fischer and Casey Spooner in the late 1990’s. Under the duo’s direction, the Fischerspooner entity has featured a rotating cast of auxiliary musicians and performers over the years with every show providing a unique experience for fans. With official releases on a variety of labels including Capitol Records, Kitsun√© Music, and Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak imprint, their angular sound is heavily influenced by German electro icons Kraftwerk and the early recordings of London’s Pet Shop Boys, both of whom are headlining at Corona Capital this weekend.

LOUIS THE CHILD  

Chicago-based duo Louis The Child has been in the game since 2013, but their recent standout singles with Icona Pop and K Flay have taken them on a wild ride over the past year. With millions of plays stacking up online following successful performances at Coachella, Lollapalooza, Electric Forest and many others, these guys are quickly gaining momentum on the heels of massive artists like Porter Robinson and The Chainsmokers.

BREAKBOT  

Since making his 2009 debut on Busy P’s legendary Ed Banger Records imprint, Breakbot has become a pillar of the French dance music scene. Known for his unmistakable retro sound and remixes that are often better than the originals, this multi-faceted producer is a favorite among the world’s most influential DJ’s and tastemakers.
