Beginning in 2004, Bestival was founded by respected DJ and producer Rob Da Bank with a focus on creating a boutique music festival experience while supporting social and environmental awareness. In the years since, it has grown to become one of the region’s top destinations, and was recognized as the “Best Major Festival” at the 2015 UK Festival Awards. Hosted on England’s scenic Isle of Wight at Robin Hill Country Park, Bestival returns this year with an amazing lineup featuring The Cure, Wiz Khalifa, Fatboy Slim and many more. MURA MASA  

Mura Masa is a 20 year old producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Guernsey in the Channel Islands who has been making waves in the electronic music scene since the release of his Someday Somehwere EP featuring the hit single “Firefly”. With millions of plays stacking up on Soundcloud and Spotify, his sample-heavy style has put his name among avant garde production giants like Hudson Mohawke, James Blake and Cashmere Cat. This young artist is definitely a must-see this weekend, as the crowds will only get bigger at his performances.

Skepta has become the biggest name to rise from the UK grime scene, having recorded with Drake and performed with Kanye West in just the past year. His latest album Konnichiwa was released to critical acclaim and became the grime genre’s highest charting album, peaking at #2 in the UK music charts and bringing London’s signature style of hip hop to the mainstream.

GOLDIE  

Goldie is a living legend in the drum & bass and jungle scene, serving as one of the genre’s primary driving forces for over 20 years. His record label Metalheadz, founded in 1994, has been a platform for various major figures in electronic music over the past two decades, paving the way for the EDM scene of today. This weekend, he’ll be giving attendees a special treat with an old school hip hop set, so make sure you get a good spot for this one.

SNAKEHIPS  

London based duo Snakehips have exploded onto the scene with chart-topping remixes for Banks, The Weeknd, Bondax, and Wild Belle. This summer, they joined Major Lazer on tour and released their highly anticipated new single “All My Friends” featuring Chance The Rapper and Tinashe. With only two more European dates scheduled this year before heading stateside, this is definitely not a performance you should miss.
